eSchool News Chooses NAACP Interactive Timeline as Site of the Week; Site is Linked to Educators by Thinkfinity.org and Funded by Verizon Foundation
The monthly print and digital newspaper, eSchool News, selected the NAACP Interactive Historical Timeline as its featured Site of the Week for Feb. 22-28. The site was funded by a $500,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation. Verizon Thinkfinity is linking teachers, students and parents to the timeline's many valuable resources.
The NAACP interactive timeline is a powerful learning tool that makes stories come to life, chronicling the history of the 101-year-old NAACP and the civil rights movement through words, pictures, interviews and film.
"Verizon Foundation is proud to work with the NAACP on this excellent site," said Patrick Gaston, Verizon Foundation president. "As a technology company, we understand the importance of expanding the benefits of technology to educators in support of student engagement and achievement."
eSchool News covers education technology in all its aspects and provides information to help education decision-makers "successfully use technology and the Internet to transform North America's schools and colleges and achieve their educational goals." More than 500,000 people visit the online news site each month.
