2010 Verizon Scholarship Program

2010 Scholarship Winners

Program Overview and Rules

Children of Verizon employees were awarded four-year, $20,000 college scholarships by the Verizon Foundation. Intended majors included everything from Electrical Engineering to Political Science, and Elementary Education.

The company's scholarship program selects recipients on the basis of financial need, academic achievement and extracurricular activities. The scholarships are for high-school seniors who plan to attend an accredited four-year institution.

Since the scholarship program began in 2001, the foundation has given more than $39 million in scholarships to 2,253 students. Information about how to apply for next year's scholarships will be available this fall on the foundation's Web site.

Employees are encouraged to review the requirements for Verizon scholarships when their children enter the 10th grade.
